Hey everyone!
We started this blog to help anyone stressing with their exams or are just interested in “Of Mice and Men” (Like us!). Throughout this novella, we have questioned many of Steinbeck’s character choices, plot twists and themes of power & relationships. With in depth research, we discovered multiple theories, speculations and possibilities about why the personalities of Steinbeck’s characters were chosen.
Through the persistence of our English teacher, we also realised the great importance of context, leading us to a whole new theory about the life of Steinbeck and whether there were people in his life that influenced his characters.
We hope this blog will help you through your journey of “Of Mice and Men” and you learn to enjoy it as much as we have.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the question, we have already prepared some topics such as the significance of names, comparisons with other books etc. We also have lots of information on context and Steinbeck himself. If there are any specific topics you want us to cover, please feel free to let us know and we will try to write about them.
Will You Do Anything On Less Significant Characters? It Will Help Me A Lot If There Was Some Information On It!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was actually one of our key topics we were going to post. We have a lot of information on the character Whit, some theories about Lennie's Aunt Clara and some points on Carlson. Are there any other characters you have in mind?

DeleteWe will first post information on the main characters (which will include Crooks and Curley's Wife) but after, we will post some information on minor characters such as Aunt Clara, Whit and Carlson.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter is currently studying this book in her class and she has an upcoming project that she must do. The topic is on whether there was a need for the portrayal of women in the novel. My daughter asked my husband and I for some help but we are unsure ourselves.
Do you have any information on this?
